Another late Rays rally sinks White Sox Posted on August 24th
Not only do the White Sox find themselves left out of the playoff puzzle this morning, they also are wondering if the missing piece can be found in time to save the season.
With their second straight loss to Tampa Bay, this one 5-3 Saturday, the Sox have gone from first place in the American League Central to a half-game behind Boston in the American League wild-card chase.
And manager Ozzie Guillen knew where to place the blame after his relievers allowed seven eighth-inning runs in two days.
“The difference in these two games between the Rays and White Sox was the bullpen. That’s it,” he said. “Their bullpen held on and we couldn’t.”
