Celek’s name goes up on marquee Posted on November 4th
A star is born
The receiving star of the night was tight end Brent Celek, who got the start for the injured L.J. Smith. Celek was open all day and caught six passes for 131 yards. Kevin Curtis also had a good game as he looks to be rounding back into form with 83 receiving yards.
Defensively, the Eagles rebounded after giving up the big play in the beginning of the game.
The Eagles should also be commended for not having a penalty called on them for the entire game. That’s a rare feat in the NFL, especially when holding can be called on nearly every play. (Editor’s note: They did have one penalty called, a late hit by linebacker Stewart Bradley).
With the Giants knocking off the Cowboys, the Eagles now find themselves out of last place with a solid record of 5-3. While most fans hoped the Eagles would be at least 6-2 at this point, things are definitely looking up for the Birds. A huge game looms next week against the Giants on Sunday night, and if the Eagles can pull that one off, they will be in a great position to challenge for a playoff spot and possibly for the NFC East title.

Bring on the Giants
The Eagles needed a win and they are flying home with that W. In the end, getting the win was all that mattered this weekend. Next week’s game against the Giants is still an elite matchup.
Sure, the Eagles were going against a shorthanded Seattle squad, but you can only beat the team that lines up against you. The Eagles got their victory by doing the small things right today (limiting turnovers, sacks, and penalties).
After a slow start (OK, very slow start), McNabb looked like his Pro Bowl self. The Eagles got an unexpected HUGE game from Brent Celek, and Curtis showed everyone that he is fully recovered from his sports hernia injury.
Sure, there are still things that need to be corrected. The Eagles again struggled in the red zone and were unable to put away the opposition, eliminating any thoughts of a second-half comeback.
But again, the Eagles got their W and moved their record to 5-3. More importantly, the Eagles moved out of the NFC East basement. Next up are the G-Men, as the Eagles continue their climb toward the top of the NFC East.
And enough of Seattle and the 12th man . . . the fans at the Linc . . . that’s a real 12th man!
Reigning champs
Consider, the Giants are not only defending champs, not only in first place at 7-1, but they are now (going back to last year) 11-1 in their last 12 games. They are also a remarkable 21-5 in their last 26 games! The Giants are also 5-0 at home this season. They rank near the top of the NFL in offense, defense and special teams.
The most impressive thing to me is the “businesslike” attitude this Giants team seems to have. They come out ready to play, they don’t panic in the face of adversity, and they seem to understand that they are set up to possibly accomplish some special things. It is a good time to be a fan of the New York Giants!
Next up, the Philadelphia Eagles. Be afraid, Eagles fans - be VERY afraid.

Dream come true
Being six rows from the field in Citizens Bank Park for the culmination of the parade, and the championship season, was beyond incredible. Like well over a million of our Philadelphia brethren, we got to show the players just how much their win meant to us. We could see the joy on their faces as they could see it in ours.
