1. The belief at the GM Meetings is that there is absolutely no turning back: Matt Holliday will be traded by the Rockies. There is too much momentum and too much discussion to turn back now executives from other clubs say. The expectation is that this will not happen until the Winter Meetings. But the Rockies appear set to move on and not have the drama of Holliday in the walk year of his contract as a distraction. It is somewhat possible that the Yankees can play for Holliday if the price drops significantly. Here is a small tidbit to keep in mind: The Rockies VP of scouting, Bill Schmidt, is said to be a fan of Ian Kennedy. There is no way that Kennedy can be the center of a trade for Holliday. But the fact is that many teams no longer have that much interest in Kennedy. That the Rockies might would at least provide a piece to a trade puzzle.
