NHL Plays Fair With Winter Classic Posted on November 6th
A lot of Hawks, Wings and NHL fans who want to be at Wrigley on January 1 are going to get left out in the cold, watching the game from the comfort of their warm homes, which is the exact opposite of being left out in the cold. But the fact of the matter is that the stadium only holds about 41,000 for baseball, possibly more if it’s reconfigured for the hockey game. Like it or not, it’s a regular season game, which means the season ticket holders have to get first dibs. Of course this means that the rich fans and corporate “sponsors” take precedence over the common fan, but what else is new in pro sports? A random drawing will determine who will get whatever is left over, with a special drawing for youth hockey participants.
